Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine
Novavax is a more traditional spike-protein vaccine that uses fragments of the spike protein to induce an immune response and has a novel adjuvant that increases its effectiveness, which allows for a lower dose and fewer side effects than without the adjuvant. It is not an mRNA Vaccine or a Viral Vector vaccine like the others available on the market in the USA. We have them in stock and available for administration. Please follow our Facebook page for updates. You can find more info about Novavax here.
QR codes for Traveling
The CDC has updated their airline travel guidance to say that only QR codes are considered a verifiable document. We contacted the CDC and they told us to refer people to the following site for a QR code: https://smarthealth.cards/en/issuers.html.
Through our own investigations, we know that some travelers who have a MyChart account with a healthcare provider can likely get a QR code from the MyChart app. We have no way of generating a SmartCard QR code for anyone.
We will continue to update this section as we learn more.
US Government Still Has Large COVID Bill Owed to US Providers
Funding of COVID vaccine administration by the US government has ended. HRSA declared April 5, 2022 to be the deadline, but the companies that process the claims stopped accepting the claims on March 30, 2022.

We are hoping that the Federal government will come to an agreement to at least pay for the shots already given. On April 5, 2022, a bill to extend funding was defeated in the US Senate. There are a couple of private insurers that have stopped paying for COVID vaccines as well. We have had two different insurers tell us to collect a $40 copay from the patient, but GA program rules will not allow us to collect the fee.
Despite the US government not paying for vaccines anymore, we will continue to hold COVID vaccine clinics at our store on Monday thru Friday 9-1 and 1:30-5pm and Saturdays 9-12:30. Our vaccination hours can be found here. No appointment necessary.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Premier Drugstore has administered over 26,640 COVID vaccines. The US Government currently owes us for about three months of work that they begged us to perform but has failed to pay. We have spoken to Senator Ossoff’s and Senator Warnock’s staff several times but have received no response from them.
As of May 2023, the US government still owes the bill and has not paid for services already rendered.
