
We have a full-blown emergency. Congress begged doctors and pharmacists to provide services for COVID with the promise to pay later for the services rendered. We answered the call and bought new equipment and hired more employees. We were told we would have plenty of time to bill for the administration fees for these emergency COVID shots. Then, HRSA started running out of money before it had paid all of its bills. There has been discussion about extending the funding but the Senate failed to pass a bill to extend it.
Here is why COVID Funding so important: Providers are still owed money for services they have already provided. The COVID Funding extension must be passed in order for doctors and pharmacists to get paid for services we ALREADY PERFORMED months ago. As of February 2, 2023, we are still waiting on about three months worth of fees to be paid for services rendered in late 2021 and early 2022. We are not asking for payment for services that we agreed to do for free. We are asking for payment for services the US government begged us to do and promised to pay us for.
